Mission

Promote lean and other continuous improvement methodologies in the San Diego area for Business Excellence. This shall be accomplished through practitioner-to-practitioner learning, networking, knowledge sharing and Consortium sponsored training opportunities with emphasis on implementation.

Open House Tours
Shared learning benefit to consortium members
Tours are hosted by local San Diego companies or a member company for an overview of lean practices, discussions, networking and more.

Customized Learning Days

Member organizations that face unique challenges along their journey can be provided with customized on-site learning to members of their organization.

AME Membership
All consortium member company employees receive AME member discounts for all AME events including the AME Annual Conference. Five people in the member company also receive Target magazine four times per year.

Lean Benchmarking
Shared learning benefit to Consortium members

Half-day topic focused meeting hosted by a member company. A typical agenda includes:

  • Welcome and introductions
  • Company overview and lean journey to date
  • Tour of facility highlighting focused topics
  • Group work sessions, feedback and discussion

Cost sharing benefit to Consortium members

One to two-day training events including:

  • Gemba walk

Speakers
Many at no cost or cost sharing to Consortium members

Guest speakers, leaders in lean business, experts in lean manufacturing, product development, human resources etc. Topics are selected by Consortium members. The Consortium will also have access to AME conference presenters.

Lean Assessment
Assessments are a good tool to guide organizational actions for improvement.

Peer members or facilitator will conduct a lean assessment for your organization or provide a guide for you to do a self-assessment using the AME Lean Sensei.

Special Interest Groups
Shared learning benefit to Consortium members

Special interest groups are for companies facing common challenges. An AME facilitator will bring interested members together for a special interest group and provide in-depth knowledge or will bring in an outside resource from AME’s network of subject matter experts.

Leadership Roundtables

Participate in highly interactive discussions about the issues you deem to be of the greatest strategic importance and currency.

The Leadership Roundtables provide member company leaders an opportunity to:

  • Identify and discuss strategies for addressing key issues and for responding to emerging trends,
  • Cultivate alliances and peer relationships, and develop critical insights.
  • Interact with guest speakers on critical topics for intensive, interactive programs.
